Nimbu. The Hindi word for lemon. Sharp, bright, instantly alive — and the idea at the heart of everything in this space.

Docklands needed this. A restaurant and bar with the confidence to be bold, the cultural conviction to be authentic, and the design intelligence to make it last. Working with the client from brand narrative through to interior design and tender, the brief was clear: a street-food market by day, a theatrical cocktail lounge and restaurant by night. Two moods, one space, no compromise.

The palette announces itself without apology. Acid green handmade glazed terracotta tiles, sourced and handcrafted with the same intention as every other decision in the room. Authentic woven pieces brought directly from India. Reclaimed furniture chosen for character as much as sustainability. These are not decorative choices; they are the story of the place, made physical.

A lemon tree grows from the central banquette. Wicker pendants hang low over reclaimed timber tables. The deep navy bar, backlit and fully stocked, shifts the room from lunch to theatre without a single structural change. Colour, pattern and light do the work, layered and considered.

Energising and refreshing, bright and bold, welcoming and above all, truly authentic.
